Over the weekend, in southern Minnesota and northern Iowa, I saw many stations where regular gasoline (actually E10) and ULSD were both $1.999/gallon.

Diesel prices have remained constant these last couple of weeks, while gasoline prices have risen since the switch to summer-blend gas. I think gasoline still has more movement to the upside.

Took the Jetta to north Arkansas last weekend. Stopped at a Shell station in a little town called Leslie on HWY 65 and was surprised to see the price at $1.69. It was at least $0.25 more everywhere else. Even worse, itís hanging around $2.19 in central Louisiana.

Yesterday I needed to fill-up so I looked at prices: the Feather Falls Casino station a half mile from me has gone up to $2.599, the FasTrip station in Gridley about 15 miles away had gone up to the same price (a month ago it was $1.899), BUT the ARCO station in Gridley was $2.259, the lowest in the area. I left the house at 5:40 A.M., drove to Gridley in about 20 minutes, and the station only had a couple vehicles at the pumps. I was able to pull in, pre-pay inside, pump the fuel, get my change, and be on the road back to Oroville, where I went to a diner and had breakfast.

The fleet:
2005 Jetta Wagon "Cranberry" (bought July 2011)
2004 Toyota Prius (bought August 2004)
1990 Mazda Miata (bought July 1989)
