Temperature Sensor Location

My 2002 Jetta seems to have a loose connection because my temp guage works off an on intermittently. Does anyone have a pic of where the sensor is located so I can make certain it is plugged in good?

There's a picture of where the coolant temperature sensor is at the bottom of this thead. When you have the hood open, stand on the driver's side looking towards the center of the engine. Look down from about the middle of the engine cover, between the airbox and the engine cover. You will see the 3 coolant glow plugs sticking up like fingers, just like in that picture. The coolant temperature sensor is on the back of the coolant glow plug contraption

I think the chances are your coolant temp sensor is going bad, which happens a lot. Apparently the replacement has an improved design.
