Hi Guys,
I was just changing the oil on my '99 A4 Jetta (90K miles), when much to my chagrin I discovered the main seal leaking. The oil is only down maybe 1/2 quart (still above low marker), so no damage to the guts. I called my dealer to check if this was under warranty, but the service dept was already gone (they leave @2 on Sat.). I talked to a sales guy who basically said that if it is a lubricated part (it is) in the engine or tranny (again yes!), then it is covered by the drivetrain warranty. I have to call the service dept on Monday morning, but I wanted to bounce this off of you guys to make sure I know the deal before I talk to the service department and they (maybe) try to screw with me.
As far as you guys know, is the main seal covered under the 100K drivetrain warranty?
