A/C line repair options -- is this kit viable?

Anyone ever tried one of these kits to repair an A/C line? Mine has come apart at the union between the flexible portion and the metal line (the rubber section pulled out -- I suspect when the radiator was replaced by the previous owner's chosen repair shop).

Are these viable or snake oil? If it would work reliably as a longer-term repair, it would save be time and money over buying a new A/C line (the rest of which is fine) and replacing the whole thing.

Your advice is welcome; thanks!

Many auto parts stores like Napa or other farm supply stores often can "swedge" the hose and fitting for a reasonable price
