Hi there.
I found nice set of VW retro wheels for sale with 225/45/17 tires.
I think our NMS Passat has 215/55/17 for OEM wheels.

Currently have 235/45/18 on my car.
Any comments on mpg or rubbing or any other issues I might have?
Did you try to fit these tires in your NMS Passat and how was your experience?
Thanks in advance.

The overall diameter of the 225/45-17 is much smaller (-4.9%) than either of the correct sizes for the Passat.

So when your odometer says 70mph, you are actually only going 66 mph. Which is great in the sense that you will most likely never be popped for speeding.

But terrible in the sense that your odometer and your fuel economy readout will be off. You will be using more fuel to go the same distance.

It is impossible for us to predict any rubbing issues without knowing wheel specs (width and offset).

Thanks for the information!
I also thought it would be small, just loved the style of it. Retro..
Thanks again!
