I am back in the TDI world. A year or so ago I sold back my 2013 TDI Passat and took some money from VW. Yesterday I purchased nearly the same car but upgraded trim level 2013 TDI Passat SEL with 73k miles for what I thought was a good deal at $10,000. Comes with a 2 year unlimited mile bumper to bumper VW warranty. I thought it was a pretty good deal and the bumper to bumper was just a bonus.
Anyway...….
I test drove several of the "fixed" ones before I decided to purchase one. I have only had it a day or two now but if I believe the computer, I already see a decline in MPG. I am sure people have already started "fixing" the "fixed" TDIs. I don't think I will do anything just yet since I have a VW warranty but I am curious what options are out there when/if I decide to basically make it like it was. Or completely modify EGR and exhaust system. Before the dieselgate saga I entertained doing something sort of "delete" anyway then the buyback happened.
