Hi, I am getting a weird electrical problem that is kind of self-inflicted. I have a 2001 Jetta and the little light that lights up the fan control quit working, put in a another fan control and wiring connector. Still didn't work, no light. So I was going to hard wire a connector from the defrost switch light source to the fan light source. I know, stupid because I'm not an electric expert. Anyways, after trying to do that and realizing it didn't work now I get no recirculation light or recirculation with fan control and when I do set it on recirculation the brake warning light on the dash comes on. I looked up online and I think a few people have had this exact problem but no one really said how to fix it. I think maybe some people fixed it through changing the brake light switch. I do have brake lights. I haven't checked all my fuses yet to see if one is blown. Thanks, Barney
