I know this is the "TDI Forum" but I thought someone maybe able to help. I've done plenty of pad and rotor replacement on VW's but was wondering if there is special tool that is needed to rotate the caliper piston in on the rear brake calipers? The reason I ask is that I do have the tool set to do this but it is designed for pistons with 2 or 4 slots and I think this GTI may have 3 slots (like an 08' Passat I did recently). Can anyone confirm how many slots the rear caliper piston has and the tool or procedure I need to follow if it has 3 slots?

Thanks very much and Happy Holidays!

The service manual indicates to use the T10165, so you should be good.
The (3C) Passats have an electric brake, so those calipers go straight back.
