Transmission Speed Sensor

Ok - so this weekend and today , the transmission threw several more codes.
P0722 Speed senser - nosignal
P0730 - Gear ratio incorrect.

as well as my normal P0740.

Went to see my trusted mechanic and he's thinking the speed senser is shot.

What am I looking for a repair ?

try the speed sensor.

the speed sensor can (could or may) cause the 730 code also.

the speed sensor listed in this link is probably not the one you need.

P0722 usually refers to the G68 speed sensor and the one pictured is the G38.

That sensor was used as G68 on early cars but not on 2000 (which I'm assuming is your year) despite the fact that the description says "A4 Late". It will only fit in the G38 position on "A4 Late".
