I was driving home last night and the headlamps and heater fan motor shut off, then came back on a few seconds later. It did it several times, and I hear a clicking inside the dash. Is there a relay controlling these items? It's a 1998 A3. Thanks.

... None :S
Ya, it's either the igntion switch or the load reduction relay. Isn't the LLR one of the relays marked 53?

You're both right, it's the ignition switch

I jiggled it and everything came back on. Thanks.

:D This is just the start of troubles... Hope you have some money saved up.
Cost me $250 at the stealership. I had no choice. Raining, (in Seattle?), dark out and Scotty was working on the transporter.
I didn't have the patience to spend 6 hours on replacing it myself.
Good luck. :p
