Time Sert on a budget?

Time Sert kits are expensive and I don't have the funds available to buy one. Is it possible to buy an eBay thread repair kit and then use a time Sert insert? I want to use quality but don't have the money for a full kit.

Just answered in a thread with basically the same question. We use Recoil kits.

If you like, we can probably LOAN you a kit. You pay for it, up front then get refund when we get it back.
