Does anyone know if it's possible to lower the allowed slip threshold on the EDL system in an MKIV TDI via vag-com? I've seen videos of it in action, and it seems that you need a really large wheel speed differential before it engages, which would be enough to dig in on a loose surface. I was able to find an ASR ABS unit for $30 on eBay and am looking forward to playing with it in my '01 golf TDI.

It seems that this should be possible, because VW offers the "off road" package on the Tiguan, which seems to be just a software change to lower the engagement threshold of the EDL.

You might find more information over on vortex, as ASR was never offered on TDIs in North America. It would seem that VW considers us on this side of the pond less worthy of the more fun options that were available.

Cheers,
