I have owned this car for a few years now and it has been a fun ride. I replaced many parts and it drives like a new car (replacing the rubber bushings changed everything...). It has a block heater and comes with a set of snow tires on steel rims. It runs and drives excellent. All the lights work, the cruise control works fine, heat works and the A/C is ICE COLD. The air re-circulation function for the A/C even works. I have installed new leather shift and parking brake cables. The car is located in Northern Michigan at this time. The reason I am selling this car is that I have too many cars! Feel free to send me questions via PM.

seems like a good price. I all ready have a TDI and don't need another one. I was wondering how you changed the parking brake handle cover? I want to change mine and don't know how to remove mine. Thanks.

If you haven't already, pull off the bezel near the brake release button. Do this carefully so that you don't break any of the plastic fingers that keep it from falling off. Yank off the old cover and you'll notice how the boot is stapled to the bezel piece.

I used a needle-nose pliers to remove the staples and actually used regular standard sized staple and individually drove them into the bezel. I used the needle nose pliers to press in each side of the staple through the leather and through the plastic bezel. Then I used the pliers to bend in both sides of the staple. Yeah it was tedious work but I was at work and did not have anything to do at the time. Once that was done, I popped the bezel and boot into the place so I could size it up (as the boot leather was longer than needed). I left some slack in place so that when it is yanked up or in the stowed position that it will not be tight. Then I cut off the excess leather about 1/4" from the end. Use a tool to stuff the leather into the area near the button and then press the bezel into place. My bezel "locked in" and tightly holds the leather. It looks excellent.

Remember that once you cut the leather, there is no going back. So think twice before you act.

Yes I do but I cannot sell it until I return sometime next Summer? Or maybe earlier. I'll bump this thread when I'm back. Until then it is stored in a humidity controlled garage.

Ad updated; I returned from my overseas work assignment and I:
1. Installed a new Wal-Mart EverStart Maxx H6 battery (3yr free replacement +2yrs pro)
2. New Pierburg N75 valve.
I will include the battery receipt in an envelop to keep with the car.

BUMP! Down to a thousand bucks ($1000 USD). Come and get it!

I forgot to add that I installed OEM Hella glass "e-code" headlights along with an LED bar as I used to work evenings. The LED bar comes on via relay upon activating the high beam headlights.
