UPDATE ON "" NO TURBO BOOST "" and MAF modification

Hi all it was the N75 valve.
lucky i had installed a boost gauge to the car 0-4psi
Anyway its back to normal boosting at full boost at 16 psi and spiking at 20psi.

I had to drive a 100 mile round trip to a dealer as my locals did not have it in stock , Not bad at £30/$59.

so i treated my self to a new maf sensor but it looks a bit different to my old one have a look at my photo of it.



This is the new design that VW came up with!!

the plastic circle in the bottom can be removed to aid more air flow, As the technician said this morning at VW.

Is this right, Has this been try'd before !!

yes thats right thats the new 130/150hp pd maf.....i have taken the whole interia out with no bad side effects other than better spool up etc.

spool up does feel quicker.
I did disconnect the battery for 1/2 an hour before i put on the new N75
valve and maf sensor.

by the way this car is still mine my wife has bought herself a clio so i now have a passat as a company car and my golf as a weekend fun car.

how much for the pd130 MAF?

Mine was £70 exchange

these are brand new At £55 inc vat at the dealers.
they where £75 exchange but good old VW bought a shed load of them
and is passing on the discount to the customers.

The N75 valve was £80 at the dealer the last time i priced it!!

It would have been cheaper to buy a Pd 130 N75 and extend the pipes
but when i called the Cardiff dealers (ref Gareth Parts) it was the same price
£30 so i was landed,

I paid £45 for my last mk3 n75 about 4 years ago but as i don't need one any more you can't get cheaper than that......i may give the steelaship a call at that price , a spare maf always comes in handy after going through at least one pierburg every year.
