Default Any thoughts on this PD140 turbo replacement?

https://www.tdiupgrades.com/product-...or-tdi-brm-1-9
I might replace/rebuild my stock BRM Borg Warner turbo but a stock OEM replacement is $850 and a rebuild around $450. The price on this one seems too good to be true. Does it mean it's probably made in China and should be avoided? And I assume I will have to spend another $400 on a Malone tune?

I'd only buy a sensitive item like a turbo from trusted forum sources. That would include IDParts, Darkside Developments, X-Man, Kerma etc. I can't find any info on that website and don't know if Midwestern turbo has much experience with tiny hybrid turbos. I wouldn't trust that.

If buying a PD140, I'd stick with a standard one. If going with a hybrid, I've had good luck with Darkside and I've heard good things about X-Man. Mine is a hybrid with a turbo off the PD170, I believe. I've got 40,000 miles out of it so far.

The turbo you listed only has "upgraded billet wheel" listed without mentioning sizes or any other specs. It sounds like snake oil, especially since they blatantly copied and pasted the sales add from IDParts and made minor edits to suit their needs.

What's odd is I went to Midwest Turbo's store and can't find that turbo.
