2000 VW New Beetle, TDI (ALH) with 5 speed. GLS model, ALH. Red w/ black interior. 208,xxx miles.
ECU tune, stage 2. Timing belt, H2O pump, serpentine belt, belt idlers, etc. done, intake manifold cleaned and new brakes, struts & shocks at 150K miles. Next due @ 250K.
The good: Strong running, 2 owner car. Clean accident history. Synthetic TF oil has been used. 50 to 55 mpg. Original paint. No rust. Great 1/2 person commuter car. Skid plate. Alloy wheels, Tires have good tread. Power windows/door locks. Power sunroof. AM/FM/CD.
The bad: Parking brakes stopped working (cable). When parked, car rolled down a small incline & hit the tip of my snow plow mount & poked a hole in the radiator & condenser. Typical 17 year old red paint fade & clear coat peel on roof & hatch lid. Needs radiator & condenser. CEL & air bag light (high resistance seat connection (common older VW problem). Door cards need some work. The car has been sitting for a bit, the rotors should probably be dressed up.
The strong running ALH engine is worth more than the FS asking price.
$700 OBO. Or $500/OBO if I keep tires/wheels & skid plate. Located Annapolis, MD
