Trunk emergency release cable

2004 Platinum Gray GLS Jetta / 2006 Silver Jetta with DSG
I replaced a broken trunk latch release bracket on a MKIV Jetta, but cannot get the emergency trunk escape handle connected to the emergency cable:mad::confused:. Any ideas on how?

All I can say is keep working on it and maybe get a second set of hands to help you. I know it's a pita, but if you keep at it, you'll eventually get it.
