after having my tdi parked for a few years I am getting it back up and running. The parking seems to have fixed an issue for some reason but caused another.

I pulled out the 451 relay and took a look at its guts, definitely fried. now I need to get a replacement. pick a part hear I come.

I know there is a large cover to take of but mine has been off for years, screws are long gone and I cant remember if it is a Philips head or torx.

this is the main cover to access anything around the steering wheel

The metal knee / crash bar is held on with 2 larger screws, and then a bunch of smaller screws. Then a few of the smaller screws hold the plastic trim pieces on.

They're all torx, T20 as I recall.

Thought they would be something like that.

in the process I found another issue. some times when I turn the key the clock and trip reset. I don't even crank over the engine.
Fuses good, new batter and seems to be charging 14.xx volts at battery while running.
