Hey all,
another thing i noticed while ive been in there tearing down my car is that the injection pump appears to be way off. whoever did the TB before must have done the mark a pray method because I have the Crank and TDC and the Cam at TDC but the pump is at about 7 o clock as opposed to 1 o clock.

I figure when I get it all off I'll just rotate it around and lock it in the place it should be and continue on the the job as normal but i was just checking in here because maybe there is some word of caution I should heed.

thanks

Wouldn't have run like that. You sure you have the cam with the #1 cam lobes up?

Be careful.
Rotate the crank a full 360* and check it again.
I have run into the situation that the cam alignment tool will slip into the slot with it "upside down".
Agreed that it would not run that way. Check the cylinder #1 cam lobes.

If it's an ALH there's the possibility that the sprocket hub was removed from the pump and reinstalled incorrectly.

Yeah, the cam lock went in 180 out. Pull the valve cover and get the #1 lobes pointing up.
