2003 Passat 1.9dti 100BHP

i currently own an 03 plate 1.9DTI 100 BHP Passat. for a week i noticed when driving the turbo woudn't kick in for a few seconds but then kick in, this happened going through the gears. now the turbo wont work at all. have had it on diagnostic and it saying low boost. turbo vein turns by hand so stumped as to what it can be. any suggestions.

When you say you can turn the "veins", it makes me suspect you may be talking about the impeller, not the vanes.

Possible just exercising the veins loosened them some. Pursue. Also check actuator adjust and vacuum, if applicable.
Mike- Nice video. My Turbo Diesel doesn't have near the forum traffic we do, but I'm always impressed by the amout of technical information
