help with RNS-E radio install, need code

hey guys, im installing a RNS-E radio in my car and i need the code to unlock it. i called Audi but they cant give me the code over the phone and want me to bring the car to them, that will not work because it is not the radio in the audi to start with. it is a 2004 a4 and the car it came out of was a 2005 a4. i know its not a tdi but its my only gas toy. does anyone else know how to get this code? i have the SN number and the VIN of the car

They probably want to charge you money to give you the code.... so you need to go the audi dealership

Did you not get the code from the person whom you bought the unit from?

for anyone who runs into this, I used a guy on ebay, it was $10 and took less than a day and I had the right code
