VNT 17/22 Smokes a bit Much Acceletaing

I installed a 17/22 recently in a 98 AHU with Malone tune stage 2. I'm using Bosio DLS1019 injectors. I notice when I shift into 3rd especially, I get a lot of smoke for a couple of seconds. Or when I accelerate hard.
I didn't get this with my K14 turbo, same tune.
During acceleration I'm seeing about 16psi boost. My ECU will top out at 21. Any ideas as to getting rid of the black smoke during acceleration?

That's a pretty different turbo compared to your old one. I would wager you need to be retuned.

Oh it had to be re-tuned. The k14 is a waste gate turbo, and the VNT is vacuum controlled. I have to use the N75 valve to run the VNT.
The power is good just the black smoke at throttle.
How about more boost? Would that help with the smoke?

Too much fuel or not enough air, take your pick. Sounds like you need to concentrate on your low boost issue.
