when servicing check your brake pads

just an fyi that VW did not put any silicone or anti seize product on the brake pad slides, they dont have the stainless steel slides any more,,
In my experience the pads will stick and especially if you see salt on your roads,,so if your in the area, its good to put a dab on the slides.

In a couple of weeks I'll be waxing the car for winter/ changing oil and oil filter. I'll make sure to put this on my check list.

Thanks! I'll be installing ceramic brake pads in a few weeks and I'll grease the pins up while I have everything apart.

I got 130K out of the rear pads of the Jetta, wear between pads was close to even but not identical. I got 80K out of the Passat pads before buy back without touching them.

I'll check but I won't say they have a broken system that needs fixing. It could be said any sort of grease could pick up dust and cause it to stick and gum up unless constantly cleaned/maintained.
