You said the code was a fuel temp short to ground. IBW called it, pump is not working. Likely because the sensor.
Until the sensor is diagnosed, or replaced, I wouldn't expect anything to change.
Not too expensive to replace and if it doesn't fix the issue then you can have a spare later.
That sensor can cause crazy issues. What was your fuel mileage before the no start?
After re reading the OP's comments I lean towards bad IP seals letting air in, or a fuel line somehow.
I would at least replace the top seal and fuel temp sensor as that's the code mentioned. Could be a broken wire to the Fuel Temp sensor.
