If this were posted in the East Coast forum, far worse things would have been said. And appreciated. :D
You east coast people scare us midwesterners at times! Especially the rabid NE crew! Knew there was a reason I don't make a HO5G GTG road trip even if it's slightly out of the way to see my relatives in MA! And yes, you speak the truth there!

Ex-NJ'er now in NW IN since 1991 - so much better off for it!

Come on out. We're actually friendly. We just don't act that way. I haven't been to a GTG in Indiana, but I love Wisconsin. Went twice this year. Based on what people buy I think there are a lot of B4s in Indiana.

If anyone else in KY, especially west of I-65 want to convoy, holler at me! We could meet up in Elizabethtown and roll on from there. Lookin' forward to my first 'fest!

I know some of the east coasters well and they are as friendly as anybody else I know. They just go too far at times and I should know since I've been guilty of that myself at times.

Well, you've got no reason to stop off in Indiana as this entire state is a wasteland when it comes to TDI GTG's sorry to say! Since 2002 there hasn't been one that I'm aware of - any wonder I drive to MI/OH/ImpexFest? But at the right time going north into Michigan will find the odd GTG but the crew up there isn't active like they used to be either. From what I see the east coast TDI'ers still stick together and put on good GTG's often enough - you don't know just how fortunate you east coasters are if you live for GTG's!

Only TDI's I see around these parts (Michiana) are A4 Jettas and the token A4 Golf. Think I've seen 2-3 B5.5 Passat TDI's but no B4 versions. There are a few B4's up in Michigan though - know one got sold to WI and it was totaled within a few months.

And I think it's time we return this thread to the original topic - Ohio's Fest.

Leo819, Munfordville would be fine also. I've got family on up the road in Hodgenville, so I know the area fairly well. I just said E-town since it is the junction of I-65 and the Western KY Parkway (or for whichever politician they have renamed it).

"I went back to Ohio once.
I was stunned and amazed.
To find my pretty country side had been paved down the middle by a goverment that had no pride.
I found the farms had been replaced by shopping malls"

I WENT BACK TO OHIO
BUT MY PRETTY COUNTRYSIDE
HAD BEEN PAVED DOWN THE MIDDLE
BY A GOVERNMENT THAT HAD NO PRIDE
THE FARMS OF OHIO
HAD BEEN REPLACED BY SHOPPING MALLS
AND MUZAK FILLED THE AIR
FROM SENECA TO CUYAHOGA FALLS

SAID, A, O, OH WAY TO GO OHIO

Pretenders, My City Was Gone

If you're going to plagarize and mis-quote, at least give credit.

Me thinks the NE convoy contingent will be, uh, shall we say LARGE. It will be interesting to see who can muster the most cars convoy. Does anyone care to take a challenge?? Let's see who can come up with the largest convoy!

Convoy's are not a good thing.........They lead to unreasonable driving and stupidity
Shouldn't be a problem. We'll let Lug_Nut lead. We'll just have to leave a bit early.

I'm bringing the B4 this year.

And what came of bhtoofer's Great Convoy to the Fest in Montreal? He didn't even go (nor register) despite starting an entire thread months ahead of time (!!!) to entice himself to make the trek! Didn't hear about any convoy happening to Montreal and we were better off for it. Sorry but I'm with Tomo on this one - no convoys for me!

For those who are interested in the definition of a convoy:

Any group of six or more vehicles temporarily organized to operate as a column, with or without escort, proceeding together under a single commander; or a series of vehicles dispatched at the rate of 10 or more per hour to the same destination over the same route.

A convoy is a group of vehicles (of any type) traveling together for mutual support. Often, a convoy is organized with armed defensive support.

So let's see - minimum of six vehicles, ideally ten or more departing the same origination point utilizing the same routing to destination makes a convoy. What about the armed defensive support - optional? :p

Maybe it's not a good idea...

The ones I was in on the way to WI and PA were fine though...

Toof drives really really s-l-o-w... he is still enroute... give him time, he's probably going to arrive early next year to last year's GTG.

Heck, many of us may actually pass him on our way to this year's GTG, if I see him I will cut over in front of him and slow down so's I can lay down a WOT sooty smoke screen in front of him for at least half a mile... :D
