The wife complained the the 2000 beetle tdi lacked power. I used the vag-com and got a code P1556 ( charge pressure control: negative devation) so I replaced all the vacum lines, now I get code P1557 (charge pressure control: Positive devation) any ideas?

not sure how you got P codes from a VAG-COM... but okay...

The first one says there was not enough boost delivered by the turbo, usually a vaccum problem N75 or an actuator on the turbo, or sticking VNT vanes.

The second one says the turbo is spiking. this can be caused by a clogged intake, vaccum lines, N75, or sticking VNT vanes.

I would check the intake first...
