Omaha buybacks

How many in the Omaha area are doing buy backs, and with which dealer?

We are. Most likely going through Baxter in La Vista. Have bought through La Vista (the Jetta and the Tiguan), as well as Westroads (our Golf) - but we are closer to the LV location.

On a side note - called them yesterday to schedule recall work on the Golf, and they told me that they hadn't handled a single buyback yet. I'm betting they don't have agents in NE yet...

I talked to John Killsomethingorother and he said they were starting the first part of December.

I will be going to LaVista as well. I could be done by the first week of December, if VW would just approve the offer I uploaded on the 22nd.

About a dozen 2009 and up
I have a couple waiting on final approval of my offer letters, and a couple others in various stages of approval. I plan on going to Baxter VW in La Vista. They will get to know me very well :D

After a month, I finally received my "complete" status and now waiting on "eligibility". Does anyone know how long that typically takes? Hopefully turning it in at Olsen VW.

I received an email 11/18 that all my documents were ok and I would be receiving the final offer within 10 days. Still waiting. I bought my Jetta in LaVista but used 102nd street as my preferred dealer.

My docs were accepted the first week of November. Haven't heard anything since. I plan on taking mine to Baxter in Lavista.

Obama Buybacks

A quick read of the thread title makes one believe your subject is related to Omaha baby backs from Omaha Steaks. :D
I thought it was about Obama doing buybacks. Made sense since he will be out of a job soon.

That is not political - just factual.

I received an e-mail from Schworer VW in Lincoln. Said they have had a "Rep" on site working the buy-backs. I haven't been out to the dealership to check it out. Still hoping for a fix I can live with.

Dec 15th in La Vista for me, went the EFT route. Hopefully it goes well, as I've already been spending that buyback money... eeek. Chalk it up to Santa Claus and 2 young kids in the house.

Still waiting for an offer letter...

<sigh>

I honestly wouldn't be so annoyed, but the sheer lack of communication from VW is making me more than a little nutty.

Cancelled Buyback

Went in for my buyback today at Baxter west roads, apparently there using the mileage you submitted in July on the claims portal instead of doing it like the settlements chart for attachment 2B statement of calculating from Sep 15' to current month x 1042 and subtracting that from current mileage to equal your mileage bracket.

Took a couple calls with the help of the TDI buyback specialist (who was very helpful and friendly during the whole process) to get through to anybody competent enough to escalate the claim ticket to VW for review.

Waiting now for VW to call me directly with answer or to give claims number a call back monday. :(

I just received my offer letter to sign and notary sign. I uploaded it yesterday. Now wondering how long until I get a turn in date!

Received my buyback offer Sunday. Signed and uploaded docs today. I'm in TX, so hopefully the location of the notary doesn't matter.

I'm doing both my TDI's but on my 09 VW made a mistake on the initial buy back offer and I'm in the process to fight a battle with them (i know I'm going to loose, right).
For my 09 with 120k miles the initial offer was 20k and a month ago we got a letter saying oops the system made a mistake a the real buy back is 12k OUCH, Right.

Since I went and bought a 2016 Jetta Sport and now I will have to pay the 8k out of my pocket.

We are doing the buyback for my 2013 TDI too, since my wife wants to drive a Beetle now oh well I will miss the MPG.

I don't know if anybody is having similar problems.

Every time I see the title of this thread, I get hungry...I must be subconsciously seing 'Omaha baby back' or something and I need to get my meat on.

FIX! FIX! FIX! :D

No way are they getting my ride back, it's too good to me. (*even though there may never be a fix, I don't care)

The only reason I'm doing the buyback is one the $$ and the $$ haha. Time to get a new ride and my daily commute is only 20 miles.

But I will miss the MPG !

My buyback appt is Feb 25.

Finally got our date set - 2/13. If nothing else, my high schooler will be able to park in the garage for *part* of the winter...

I'm going to miss the Jetta. It's an awesome car - we've just got too many mechanical things that aren't covered by warranty going wrong. :-(

May be a weird question but.....

If any of you Omaha/Lincoln buy back guys are giving back gun metal grey sedans with a perfect driver front door skin, please PM me. My door, from the day I bought it, has a weird skin on it and it's not perfectly flush with the rear door. It bugs me and I figure if I could swap a door skin I should at least try. :)

I forgot this thread was here!

Hey, are any of you guys still holding on to your MK5 or even MK6 TDI's waiting to turn in for buy back that have clean wheels? I hit a BIG pothole (bent wheel) on my way back from KC and apparently VW does not make the 17in Goal wheel in silver (or anthracite) anymore. SO, I'm looking for either 1 clean 17in Goal wheel for my car OR might even entertain a full set of wheels. ?
