loss of power

Driving along about 50 mph when I experienced a loss of power and the pre glow light came on. I made it home. This morning I started it up and no lights were on. First time I accelerated both the pre glow and the MIL ( malfunction indicator light ) came on. Nursed it back home and smoke was coming from the exhaust and the smell of diesel was strong.
I have 39,000 miles on the 2014 TDI SEL

Get it scanned to find out what the computer is trying to tell you then go from there. There will probably be a code stored even if the MILF light isn't on.

surely a 2014 is still under warranty? take it to the dealer.
