VW Passat TDI Wagon B4 1996 - 128,544 miles for sale in central NJ
Folks,
I am selling my 1996 Passat Tdi Wagon (B4 Variant) stick shift with a comparatively low mileage of 128,544 miles. This is the third car for me and therefore, I am driving it less and less recently.
I have owned this car since fall 2000 (bought at roughly 56,000 mile). I have the maintenance records since then.
Have been using synthetic oil throughout.
The car was chipped (rocketchip) in 2010.
It has a Dual XHD-6425 HD Radio / CD Receiver replaced in 2008.
Also installed a uhaul hitch for heavy hauling.
The timing belt was changed at 56,000 miles and at 114,000 miles.
The diesel car obviously still has a lot of miles left in it with some TLC.
Some sample repairs
- new VW Battery in 2016
- replaced injection pump cover gasket
- last synthetic oil change at 127,432
- wheel alignment at 125,036 miles
- two Michelin Performance tires (45000 mile warranty) at 124,932 miles
- two BF Goodrich tires (60000 mile warranty) at 119,160
- replaced two door handles from dealership at 123,830 miles
- replaced meshed fuel transfer hose 123,830
- repaired leaking fuel line at 123,784 miles
- replaced fuel filter, fuel fitting, and power steering pump at 114,427 miles
- replaced water pump, timing belt, timing belt tensioner, roller, crank shaft pulley, and intake air filter at 114,106
- replaced driver side windows regulator 108,947 miles
- replaced a/c compressor, receiver / dryer and expansion valve assembly at 107,747 miles
- replaced worn clutch master and slave cylinders, accessory belt roller, drain and bleed clutch hydraulic system at 107,630 miles
- replaced serpentine belt at 105,026 miles
Two repairs are required:
- one outer CV joint assembly
- does not heat
A paint job will help. Though there is no rust.
