How do I remove the plastic fan blade from the electric motor? 2003 Jetta.
I see only a flat washer around the shaft of the driver side (larger) radiator fan motor…

Trying to remove just the Blades??

The larger fan assembly is easily removed by simply unbolting the top 2 screws holding the plastic "Y" shaped housing secure.
And the 3 or 4 bolts holding the actual fan motor to that "Y" housing.

Then its an easy game of manipulating(lightly bending out of the way) the "Y" housing to squeeze motor/Blades out as one unit.

The motors themselves crap out, so, complete replacement is likely necessary at some point anyways. (Assuming the blades are cracked, i think i might just replace whole unit knowing the fan motors dont last forever)

I agree with IARK above.A while back both of fans died, and looked melted. I went to P-N-P and then removed and took out the whole fan assembly, and $20.00 for both fans. Having to remove the whole assembly I learned what exactly to do in reverse
