my dash warning light/chime keeps coming on telling me that the drivers door is open, I close it and all good for a brief while then same thing happens again and again, anything I could do to fix this annoying issue ?

Replace the driver side door latch/handle. The microswith that tells the "computer" that the door is open/closed isn't working right.

There are just too many to list....
Yep, need a new door latch. Common. You *might* try spraying some contact cleaner in the latch and close/open the door a few times, see if it helps. Also make sure the screws are tight that hold it to the door. But chances are you'll need a new one.

Thanks for all the great help from you both for your wisdom, I will be replacing the door handle after the holidays !

05 passat tdi Geared BSM and Bewcam 2nd 2005 deleted ,converted and bew cam stage 2 Malone3 tune.
It seems people have had good luck with after market door locks. I have replaced two that have worked well.
