Arrow 11th Annual Detroit Auto Show GTG - NAIAS 2018 - January 20 (aka WINTERFEST)

Happy October, everyone! It's that time of year when I'm happy to announce our 11th annual Detroit Auto Show get-together, aka "Winterfest!"

WHEN:
This year's GTG date: Saturday, January 20th, 2017 (first public day of the show). You'll note that it's a week later this year than usual, which means no hockey kids at the hotel, yay! Unfortunately, it also means that it isn't a three-day weekend, boo.

Due to the large number of out-of-towners who frequent this event, the GTG will start on Friday evening and conclude with breakfast at The Bomber on Sunday morning.

http://naias.com/ for more information on the auto show.

This year’s post-show activity will be a visit to The Henry Ford complex for your choice of a tour of the River Rouge Ford factory or The Henry Ford Museum. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, it will not be possible to do both activities.

For those of you who are planning on staying for part of Sunday, we will be making an afternoon trip to JD Karting’s indoor electric go kart racetrack. This will be an arrive-and-drive event with no pre-purchase of tickets. There may be a delay in getting track time if the venue is unusually busy.

LODGING:
Once again, we will be staying at the Ypsilanti Marriott. It's a 40 minute drive from the COBO Center, it's a great place to stay, and Ypsi is an awesome town with awesome food (and not far from Ann Arbor).

Hotel pricing is $136.00 per night for 7th and 8th floor rooms. We have rooms available on Friday, January 19th and Saturday, January 20th. If you would like to extend your stay beyond these two dates, let me know via PM.
Hotel booking deadline is Tuesday, December 19th, 2016. After this date, any unsold rooms in our block will be released to general sales. If you're interested in attending this event, please book your room before December 19th.

I'm in. Peter V. is too. And I bet Jetter will make it.

That 40 minute drive to the COBO center, is that time following Lawson? I think it was a bit quicker last year.

I am going to try. One of the things that made it hard for me to get away these last few years is sadly no longer around, and I could sure use some fun time with my dub peeps.

I will try and firm it up in the coming weeks.
