convert it to Boschrealy nice setup! I'm going to buy a B7 aswell but have to chose PPD170 because we dont have PD16V in B7 in Sweden
Hope you find a good clutch and be able to use the full potential in this engine!

Yes, the enginecode is BLB...Very nice. Properly set-up FF.
Is BLB the engine code?
Would be quite not good as the PD has quite high CR and different bowl designto start with, so atleast changing the pistons would also be rquiredOut of interest, does anyone know if a 2.0 CR head would mate to a 2.0 PD block?
Ash
everyone elses CR is crap, VW's is best. haha!
I do think VW were a little slow off the mark with the CR though.
no, I meant the threads of the bleedersDid your calipers had treads? mine hadn't.. I just used a 16mm tube with 1mm wall thickness and then bolts with nuts..
the bleeders were probably stuck due to oxidation...ahh, bad.. how can that be? mine only had one of these small brake lines crushed in shipping.. so ordered one new.. thank god you can place this line at top and bottom of te caliper, otherwise it would be quite tricky to bleed them installed on the car :d
yep...does the calipers fit pnp with the discs you have?
for the 18Z calipers the 345mm ML55 AMG discs seem to be a good fit according to the boys in the US...hmmz.. I had to mill around 4mm of the mounting tabs of the calipers to make the rs4 discs (360x32mm IIRC) be in te center of the caliper, unfortunatly the calipers are slightly too far inwards mounted, so I had to shave the discs down to around 354mm to make them fit
yes they should fit...do these fit pnp on the A4? I only have 245's on the rear, altough when steering in hard in a corner while braking the inner rear wheel still tries to lock up before the front one
those would be nice indeed...Nice to know; I was thinking about using the 288's in the rear which come stock on A4's with higher output than the 120hp I got
if I am correct, the Golf5 shares the brake setup with the A3 8P and A4 B6/7...Do the A4 B6/B7 use different offset front discs to the Golf etc?
I've got my Mk3 caddy and a friends A4 Avant to build a big brake setup so need to get it right, haha!
Thanks for the write up and info!
