A8 TDI buyback status?

Sorry for the absolutely uninformed question....

What is the status on the Audi A7, A8 dieselgate situation? Were most of the cars bought back? Is VWAG sitting on a bunch ready to flood the used car market...thereby dropping prices notably? ;)

The Audi dealer up the street had a big banner "TDI SALE" and a mix of cars on the front of the lot.

I was driving a Performance Tesla 3 at the time, so I didn't have time for an in depth look ;)

None of the A7’s or A8’s qualified for a buyback, only the older Q7’s. There was some unsold stock at the time the scandal broke. Some of that is for sale now. Prices on these cars are around 20% off list. Used car TDI prices are soft.
