Recalled Parts List

It was mentioned here, http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=181390 , that an EGR Cooler was recalled and the dealer has free replacements, presumably for the 2001 Jetta. Are there any websites or places to call that will list any and all recalled parts from your car's year? That would be nice to know.

You can call a dealer and have them run your VIN. They should be able to tell you what recalls are outstanding for your particular car. However, sometimes, for some reason, the miss some, so call another dealer as well. (I had my VIN on a previous Golf run several times, it was only the 3rd dealer that found the recalls and did the work, even though the recalls had been in effect for years already. Not trying to call dealers inept or anything, just the facts).
