Does anyone know how many litres needed for a fluid change in the 8 Speed ZF transmission?
I read a dry fill was about 9.5 l .

There are just too many to list....
Alldata shows drain and fill at 3.6 - 4.0 liters. I'd say that is about right.

If you drop the pan and change the filter, it is closer to 5 liters.

We hook the cooler pipes to a machine and flush them, 14 liters, which is far better and less messy.

Thanks oilhammer, it will be a filter change along with the drain. For the filter, Meyle has a kit available with the gasket and pan bolts at a lower cost vs the OEM. Meyle is an OEM supplier and I have used them for filters in other German cars. Do you think the transmission filter needs to be original VAG or is Meyle ok to use?

For a transmission that has a retail price of 6k I’d get the VW filter and pan gasket. About $250 from idparts or fcpeuro.
In my experience Meyle parts have not been OEM quality, maybe the Q7/Touareg parts are better.
