Price has been lowered to $15,900.00. This is a great deal! Price lowered only because I need to sell it as I have too many TDI's!

Great deal! Truck is clean as a whistle, nearly in Mint condition with only a few minor door dings from parking lots.

Anyone?

Anyone interested? It's a shame, these are the BEST SUV money can buy, we love Touaregs, but I don't need 3 of them. This is the hardest thing I've ever tried to sell in my life, VW was RIGHT to yank them from the US Market, nobody buys them here.

I'm going to have to sell this to Carmax or similar because I've had it listed on cars.com for months and put it on eBay 5 times, the price has been lowered from $22,000 all the way down to $16,900 and I haven't even received a single phone call or contact.

Kelly Blue Book Very Good Condition says it's worth $19,241 ~ $23,406. I wasn't getting squat for 2 months listed at $21,500.

Kelly Blue Book dealer Trade in Good Condition = $16,249 ~ $19,850
Over the past 4 months I've lowered the price again and again to where I'm almost at the low end of Dealer Trade-in and still I haven't had a single bite, nobody has even looked at it.

Kelly Blue Book Instant Cash offer? Not eligible, Not sure why, but every vehicle I've ever punched in for Instant Cash offer says NOT ELIGIBLE so who knows.

I just heard of a new thing called SHIFT, not sure if it's legit or ABOFBS.

I agree. That was a great deal and this is a great deal. We are into our 2014 for about this amount of money AFTER the VW incentive and we bought it with about 110k on it. Although we also bought it over 18 months ago so it was newer than this one. But I'm really surprised it hasn't sold.

I'm personally not a fan of SUV's, but the Treg TDI is a pretty incredible machine. The towing capability is crazy and the handling for a vehicle of that size and weight is very good. I read on this forum about people spending $45k and up on the new stop sales so this seems like a steal at a fraction of the price.

To the OP, good luck with the sale. It only takes one buyer! Hopefully you find them soon.

I think that the Elephant in the TDI diesel gate hasn't been discussed and that may steer potential customers away. Since it has nearly 100K mi, upcoming maintenance would factor in.

Well, for one thing there's no timing belt, it's an internal chain. The engine will easily go 600,000 to 1 million miles if you do a dpf delete.

Our 2013 Touareg already has 175,987 miles with nothing more than normal oil changes, and it runs like a swiss watch. We're not gentle with it either, we routinely pull a dump trailer, 7500lbs to 9500lbs full of dirt, and actually NEED and USE 4WD, would have been stuck without it.

After VW Neutered it, MPG was only 19 City & I could not squeeze any better than 31MPG ALL Highway no matter how hard I tried.

After a Malone tune & DPF Delete, I did a MPG run with CC set at 62MPH and got 40.2 MPG the first test I did. Normally driving 70MPH to 80MPH it gets in the 35MPG range.

Malone Tuning + DPF Delete did wonders, it has even more unbelievable Massive Torque (Nearing 500 ft-lbs) & getting 37MPG doing 70mph with CC set.

All this and pulling the dump too with nearly 180,000 miles, which is nothing, in a few years we'll be doing the same thing with 300,000 miles. Easy.

Yes, its a TDI.
Yes, that is a great deal you got at $15,000.00
As of 8-9-18 Online KBB Private Party SPORT TDI in Very good Condition 125,000:

Yet over the past 4 months I had mine advertised on 4 separate web sites starting at $21,500 which was right in the middle KBB Very Good Cond, & I've slowly lowered the price to what it is now at $16,900.00 (NOW EVEN LOWER AT $15,900.00) which at that price is now -$5424 below Middle KBB, $15,900 is now slightly lower than lowest Dealer Trade in as of 8-9-18.

I CAN NOT SELL IT!

It only has a few very minor scratches & tiny little door dings, otherwise it's in MINT Condition, clean carfax, all original & NO accidents, yet none of that even matters because in 4 months nobody has even looked at it. I've only received 3 waste my time contacts about it, & those were after I lowered price to $15,900.
I give up! Taking it to carmax, trying SHIFT & another new place in my home town called Driveo.

If you still have it, I'm very interested. My account just got activated, tried to pm you earlier this week
I sold it to a used car dealership Driveo..... I should have sold it to them months ago, they gave me more than I expected, more than I was asking for it! STUPID ME! No wonder they have 5 star ratings!

While I was waiting, I walked their lot & noticed every single Car, SUV, Truck & Jeep they had on their lot was flawless, not a scratch or ding anywhere to be found! They have their own in house detailers who take their inventory a step farther than just cleaning & detailing, they fix/blend/polish minor dings, scratches etc. I'm not kidding, every used vehicle I looked at on their lot was flawless, everything from a 7 yr Toyota Van 160,000 miles to a 5 year old Jeep Wrangler 79,000 miles, to a practically brand new 2018 Ford Escape 398 miles, they were all flawless inside & out.

They'll sell my Touareg for thousands more, good for them too because NOBODY, ... & I mean it NOBODY even looked at it when I tried like hell to sell it for the past 3 months. Heck, I didn't even have one serious prospect, only 2 or 3 contacts about it, & all they did was waste my time, they were never really going to buy anyways.

TDI's (Including 3.0L V6's) were flying off the lots back the end of last year, (people trying to get that Restitution money) but now they're all dead in the water, at least TDI Touaregs are.

Congrats! Great info. How did their quote compare to CarMax?

Now you can add "SOLD" to the title of your post.

Absolutely NO COMPARISON to CarMax (I assume you meant CarMax)

Carmax offered me $14,500, Driveo offered me $18,550 originally, but lowered it to $18,200 because I was not the original owner.

SHIFT offered me $19,800.00 for it the beginning of last month, then lowered offer to $19,400.00 2 weeks later, then lowered again to $19,200.00 a few days after that & I turned it all down thinking all BS just to get you in the door, I thought they would deduct $1000's of dollars on every little ding & scratch they could find, but I was mistaken, probably would have been fair, I should have sold it to them in the beginning right from the start, but back then I kept thinking someone would easily buy it for $20,000 to $21,000, BOY WAS I WRONG!

I've been trying to sell it for 3 months, in that time I've learned almost no Touaregs (Gas NOR Diesel) have sold on Cars.com, eBay, CarGurus, nor Autotrader. Even the ones you think sold, you see them listed again a few weeks later.

I don't know if it's just Touaregs, or perhaps that's just the way it is with Used cars at this price point, dealerships have a much easier time selling used vehicles at this price point.

I listed my 1998 TDI Jetta for $4500 about 3 years ago on CL & had 17 phone calls in the first 5 hours, some were 2000 miles away, it changed my mind & I kept it. Must be a whole different ball game selling used at the Touareg Price Point, I couldn't sell it no matter what I tried.

Oops, yes, CarMax! Haha.
Very interesting. I wish I was local to SD to swing by Driveo or SHIFT. CarMax offered me $20,000 on my Q7 about 2 months ago, private party value is mid-20s. They told me they do not sell any TDIs; they send them straight to auction ever since the recall. A local VW dealer quoted me "low 20s" and showed me the list of auction transactions. They (and it seems CarMax) just use the low end of recent auction sales of comparable vehicles to determine their buyback price. If I don't get any private party interest, I'm gonna cut my losses and sell it to CarMax I think.
It is such a shame that, even with the restitution payment, we are getting hosed on the residual market value of these gorgeous luxury SUVs. Seems no one but you, me, and a select few others want them. I wish I could keep mine, but we got a van that better suits our family, and it doesn't make financial sense since my commuter car is a '12 gas Jetta with which I get 26mpg on my 6 mile commute. It's just plain "cheaper to keep her."

I had a completely different experience at a Lexus dealership. We were looking at at a CT200H (its a Luxus Prius). We drove a nice one a a local reputable used dealer and then went to look at a similar priced (both 2014 same options different color) "certified" one that had 25K more miles. When they brought us out to this car: The shark fin antenna was falling off, there was a fist size dent in the bumper, scratches all over the car, and the headliner had some white stains. The sales guy says "certified" only takes care of the stuff under the hood, but we will fix the other stuff, if you buy it. No thanks! We went back and bought the other one.

Nice to see they gave you a decent price.
