Default exhaust heat shields

I have to keep rescrewing the shields to the body as the original anchors rust off. Other than over the cat, are the other shields really needed? I am sick of the rattles from these shields.

Probably doesn’t belong in the “power enhancement” section but...

Yes you can remove the rattling aluminum heat shields. If you are concerned about certain areas such as above the cat, you can use that foil backed insulation like on your firewall

that stuff won’t rattle and is dirt cheap or even free from junkyards.

Remove them and don't worry about it. Mine finally fell off a couple years ago and no issues. I run sustained 1400+ EGT's with a trailer and an 8" outside diameter muffler where the cat used to be so it's close to the floor - no problems.
