And, if the engine is a 2004 model or newer, the TB is entirely different.

And, for what it is worth, the TB that fits the 1.6 VW Gasser engine will also fit the Ford Pinto engine (both made in Germany).

Not engine related, but the sway bar from a 2009 Jetta Wagon fits my 2015 Passat.
