Thanks, VolManiac! Orange you a Vol?

(We lived in Knoxville from 1987-1990, when we moved here to Colorado Springs.)

Here's another thing we miss about East Tennessee.

TDI YWG has a 2003. The ALH uses 505.00, and would be fine with several Mobil 1 varieties at walmart for $22-$25 for a gallon/5 quarts, as well as the full syn Rotella T6 5W40 for $21.

Napa has Valvoline MST 5w-40 for $5.50 per liter.

They also have Valvoline Synpower XL-III 5W30 $133 for 19L. That’s $33 per oil change if you need 507.

Depends on your TDI.

The early ones were 505, the PDs were 505.01, and then along came 507.

I would only recommend 507.00 for the CR engines, and a robust CJ-4 or CK-4 5w40 for all older TDIs, VE or PD.

The best deal I'm currently finding is Rotella T6 5w-40 from WalMart. 2.5gal for $56. That's $5.60 qt.
Anyone know a better deal now?

Amazon is running a few sweet deals on a 3 pack of 1 gal Rotella T6 5w-40 in the past 30 days. You have to watch it or set a price alert but you can catch it very heavily discounted.
As of this posting its the "normal" price of about $80-$84, but in the past 30 days has bounced down to $54.88 on occasion. By my math 12 quarts for $54.88 is $4.57/quart.

Link to a price chart for the item
Hope anyone looking gets in on the deal. Everywhere local to me has it marked higher.

I bought two of the turbo diesel truck. Limit is 10 for that type. Think the price is good through April 25th.
