lights sticking on when doors are locked
Have a 2001 Jetta TDI that required several clicks of the key or unlock button to get lights off. Now I'm unable to lock doors either by key or remote because lights stay on, wearing down battery. Only way to get them off is to disconnect battery. I'd be happy to disable security system and lock car manually. I'm sure someone must have experienced this problem. Any ideas? Thanks so much!

Try that. Common issue. If you have VCDS you can see which door is electrically open but physically closed

Which lights? Sound like it could be a bad CCM.

I'm having the same problem, though intermittently during this extreme cold weather. VCDS points to the driver's front door lock.
