Default 01316 ABS control module code

Recently had a CEL in my 2000 Golf TDI. Plugged in Vag-Com and found two codes, one for a burned out glow plug, which I repaired and the 01316 ABS control module fault/49-10, no communications-intermittent. There is no ABS light indicating an ABS problem, so I'm a bit confused as to what the issue really is. Anyone experienced this symptom........any suggestions? Thanks Lektrikman

I have this same ABS code, however my pump is shot and the ABS light is on. This may be the case with your car as well and someone just covered the light with electrical tape (I've seen it done). Also check the fuse on top of your battery (Far right, when standing in front of the car). If the fuse is there make sure it isn't shot but also look at the connections and see if they're corroded.
