Ok thanks, so is this VAG-COM really hard to use? I mean do you have to be a professional to use it? What all can you do with it?

OK, I suppose this was for me.

The radio interface is "clunky" in the sense that it's very slow to update when paging through the iPod selections. The connection is in the center console (arm rest), where it takes up about half of the available space; I still haven't figured out what the other half is supposed to be used for.

As for sound quality, it's pretty good.

Default Ipod Playlist Question

Hi - I just got my MkVI TDI yesterday and am all-around delighted but I do have one question, which I can't seem to find an answer in the owner's manual, and two different sales folks at the distributor couldn't help.

How do I make the radio screen (non-navi version) display my ipod playlists? All I get is a list of songs, alphabetized by artist, and then by song.

I've got some driving playlists that I really like, and I can't figure out how to get at 'em.

Am I missing something?

Thanks!

Does your car have the Factory MDI ?? If you are plugging inthrough the AUX you won't get any Playlists.......

Also you car is a MK5 not a MK6.

Huh? I thought 2010 Golf was MkVI. ???

In other news, I figured out a semi-workaround to get at playlists.

1) Turn on music system.
2) Turn on ipod
3) Select desired playlist in ipod. Connect to interface cable immediately.
4) Scroll through playlist as desired.

If wishing to go to a new playlist, disconnect ipod from connector cable, select a new playlist, and then repeat steps 3 and 4.

Talking iPod Touch sound quality

I had trouble with poor sound quality with my iPod Touch 32 GB. The vocals sounded "fuzzy" in spite of altering the bass/treble. I was actually able to fix the problem by going to "Settings" and selecting "Factory settings". The sound quality has been perfect since. I still get an occasional drop out of sound at the beginning of songs. Advancing through the song library is a bit slow, also. I agree with the other comments that the interface is a bit clunky, but I am glad to have the MDI overall.

Check that your Ipod is in Airplane mode, that cuts down on the background fuzz.

When looking at the alphabetized list touch the icon in the upper left of the screen and you can sort by different things including "playlist".
