To add to what Tom said, when I got my Jetta early year, I noticed how difficult it was to have a conversation with a passenger like I did in any other auto car (my first manual tranny), it really does take a lot of concentration even now that I'm comfortable with the shifting. Also, you rulebuddy, I'll keep your parenting methods in mind when my time comes in however many years :P
