Put me in the list for a spin in your new ride eric. I was too dirty to go in such a clean car this time.

Unless you're planning on doing the job yourself, you'd probably be best to check a couple of shops around and get some quotes. I doubt anyone at the GTG is going to do your brakes for you, although it's possible that someone may be able to walk your through parts of it if you decide to try and tackle the job.
Also, FYI, when the brake pads are that low, it usually means the rotors are going to end up being worn and since they can't really be machined, you may want to replace those at the same time as the pads.
I had my front and rear brakes done recently at JS Performance in Abbotsford for a good price, and I believe they've got some kind of special on right now. There are also a couple of other shops around that do pretty good work depending on where in town you are. Check out Dubberz which is a local VW website and you can find a few threads on local shop recommendations.

what a joke

i called the vw dealership

they told me $530 for rotors and my front brakes!

that js performance place will do it for $300

Would i be welcome to come check out the meeting, i def need some better info on how to take care of this damn car

i bought it used at 56 000 km from the dealership, im now at 92 k , 2 years later

the 2 year warranty runs out at the end of march and i definitley think a few things are up in the way it drives that show somethings gonna break or im just paranoid and i feel the dealership is tryin to hold out on me until the warranty is out

Anyone is welcome to come out to a TDI GTG .. as long as you drive a TDI!

And as for the dealership trying to screw you ... well ...

Default FINALLY - its here!!!

Hey Vancouver Regulars!

My JSW TDI has finally come in and its time to part with my beloved Golf... If anyone knows of any interest in my well cared for (and slightly improved upon) 99.5 Golf TDI - by all counts one of the TDIClub Vancouver originals - check it out:

http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?p=2427856

If all goes well, I should be able to make it out to the next GTG in my new wheels! Hope to see ya soon!

- Brian

I'd love to come up but I'm scheduled to possibly work that weekend. Bummer... Vancouver has a lot of enthusiasts that I'd like too meet sometime.

Default Adgenda

What's the Adgenda at these GTG's?

Or it's time to just hang?

I'm thinking of going if the weather is like today
