Air Horn on my jetta?

Okay so this is just a thought. But ya know how sometimes you get cut off and your hit your horn but it just doesn't make enough noise?

Have any of you thought of putting in an air Horn(s)? talking like maybe 190 db or higher? I'm thinking i need my jetta old version 2005 to sound like a mac truck!

that would really freak them out... or a ship horn.... I could just see someone in a Rabbit with a air horn blowing and people freaking out....

About 50 years ago I was driving down the highway and was almost runover by an 18 wheeler. We caught up and pulled up under his drivers door and laid down on the air horn. He jerked the wheel to the right so hard that he was down in the ditch before you can blink an eye. So yes they get results. Thanks Eric AKA cadman1940

These are mandatory equipment on all the local jacked-up mudder trucks. You can hear them sounding-off throughout the neighborhood on Friday afternoons.

That's crazy.
On a recent road trip driving through West VA I watched a mad man driving his mac truck. He didn't have any trailer so you could see his 6(yes....6) air horns. he would diliberatly(sp) lay on the horn as people would try to get on the HWY and scare the sh*t out of them. how sweet would it be to give poeple like that a taste of their own medicine?

I have seriously considered air horns, and the only reason I don't have them right now is money. If you want real air horns, be prepared to spend a minimum of $500-600. I think the cheap imitations are even worse than living with the stock horn.

Air horns, air compressor, storage tank, solenoids and associated wiring and hoses.
Where do you plan to stick all this stuff?

If you do get one be very polite with it, or you may need the urgent services of a dentist or even a proctologist. LOL

I have a two trumpet air horn mounted under the hood on my Jeep. I already had an electric compressor mounted under the hood with a two gallon air tank underneath next to the frame rail to air up my tires after offroading. The compressor always keeps the air tank full. I have a switch mounted on the dash for the air horn. I can't imagine finding enough room other than the trunk to fit everything in a Jetta. Sure is fun to let people know exactly when they are doing something wrong on the road. Definitely a $300+ investment.

If you really want it badly enough, you will find a spot. I was looking around under my Jetta last weekend when I was changing the oil, and there are more empty spaces under there than you think at first.

Just a thought, and this might only be relavent to mkV's, but I noticed some very large spaces directly behind the my front bumper in the corners. I didn't get so far as to look for mounting spots, but you might look around there. Another option would be to put the tank somewhere behind the carpeted wall trim in the trunk, and just mount the compressor itself outside to minimize noise.

Another thought, unless you are planning on blowing on your horn for extended periods of time, you might be able to get by with a one or two gallon air tank. That would save you some space, for sure.

I did it to my Passat, compressor, .5gal tank, and train horns......
