Default OBD port location on New Beetle

I've ordered a ScanGauge for our cars, but I can't find the OBD port on the New Beetle. Can anyone point me in the right direction? It's probably embarassingly obvious, but it's a mystery to me.

Thanks, Doug

It's not too far away from the steering wheel - down where your feet go.

In my 95 Passat there was a little cover to the right of the instrument cluster which actually butted up on the left of the rear window switches. That's where it is in a 95, so I assume the 97 would be the same.

Thanks for the prompt replies. I pushed the seat back, got down on my knees, and there it was!
