I thought I'd mention this here for anyone else whom may find it valuable:
I recently replaced my exhaust flap after attempts to clean and lubricate my faulty one failed. After doing so, my fuel economy appears to have increased considerably. My morning work commute previously averaged around 37 MPG, now it's in the low to mid 40s. For reference, my car has just over 125k miles.
