AMSOil is the best stuff I have used, I have a 2002 Jetta TDI and I use the
5W-30 3000 Series that meets VW spec 502.00, your is a different VW spec
VW 505.00, 505.01.
I beilieve good oil is engine insurance, so don't skimp with cheap oil and your engine should last quite a long time.
I have been using AMSOil in my Jetta since I bought it, now with 100,000
miles on it and it purrs.
I recently did the timing belt change and got a chance to see the camshaft, it shows little wear as compared to another Jetta next to mine
in the Dealership shop (about the same mileage) and it had much more wear, they were using the Castrol garbage recommeneded (pushed) by the Dealership, it doesn't meet the VW spec so they tell you to change it every 5000 miles, with AMSOil I can go the full 10,000 per the manual.
What ever brand of good oil you choose to put in your engine, make it a high quality true synthetic oil, all the info can be found here on this site.
