Hi,
My tail light was replaced due to an "incident" with a pole. The Defective bulb light is still on. Do I need a vag com to reset it?
Thanks

I don't think there is need to reset it, I think you still have a light problem and don't realize it. (yet)
Check all your lights and see which one is the culprit.

Good luck!

No you don't need VagCom to reset it> It will go out once you correct the problem. Suggestionh-the brake light contains 2 bulbs. Check there-happened on friend of mine -hooked up VAGCOM -said defective brake light!

Own? None. Fix? All.
make certain you have the right bulb in it, and also make certain that the wiring isnt damaged. it will look for a voltage drop change in the circuit, so either will cause the lamp out indicator to come on.

So just ran across this thread... I have a 2010 Jetta and replaced the license plate bulbs with LED's. Since it's looking for a voltage change... the LEDs don't provide quite enough and it throws the error.
